WHO ARE WE?

The 948 Sports Foundation was established by the OA Sports Club, who gifted £500,000 to promote participation in sport by young people in the City and District of St Albans.

Since 2001 the Trustees have awarded grants totalling in excess of £350,000 and are probably the biggest local sporting charity.

Awards have been made to individuals, schools, sports clubs and community bodies.
The 948 Sports Foundation’s Objectives
We have a number of key objectives which we strive to achieve:
ADVANCING YOUTH EDUCATION
To advance the education of young person’s attending schools, colleges and universities by ensuring that due attention is given to their physical development and provide facilities to encourage participation, by such persons, in physical recreation and sport.
ST ALBANS SCHOOL
To further the charitable purposes of
St Albans school.
IMPROVEMENT OF LIFE CONDITION
To help to provide facilities for recreation with the objective of improving their conditions of life.
We also award grants to other related charitable purposes as the Trustees see fit.
